Flowers and Capes

Afternoon lovelies!
How long has it been since I blogged? Probably more than a week!
I'm sorry, I thought I would've been able to blog on Wednesday but I was swamped with a ton of work and other things!
Anyways I'm here now and I want to start off with an OOTDs post! This is just a compilation of my previous outfits in the last couple days!

Here's an overview of all my outfits
I just noticed I repeated some of my clothes in different days.
That's okay though. LOL.

Bring Me Back To Them Days
Oversized Collar Denim - XXI $40
Floral Dress - XXI $5
Black Tights - Sears $5
Vintage Brown Loafers - XXI $5

WOW! I didn't realize almost everything I'm wearing is from XXI!
WOW. Again, how ironic!
The title for this outfit is quite long but I felt when I was wearing this that I was from the 70's mixed with the 90's just because of the flowers and denim compiled into one.

Denim Capes
Maroon Cat Eye Sunglasses with Gold Tips - H&M $7
Oversized Denim Collar - XXI $40
Cream Basic Dress - H&M $10
Black Long Cardigan - H&M $20
Tights - H&M $2
Black Ankled Booties - $10

I bought this cardigan when we went shopping and put it on.
It was on sale for 20!
I asked if it looked okay and he said
"It looks like you're wearing a cape"
When he said that I was happy.
Something about long cardigans or long jackets makes me feel awesome.
OH! And I have more pictures but that'll be in a different post! :)

Black on Black
Black Toque - XXI $5
Black Retro Sunglasses - XXI $8
Black Long Cardigan - H&M $20
Charcoal Top - H&M $4
Black Skirt - XXI $10
Black Tights - Sears $5
Black Ankled Booties - XXI $10

Another outfit that goes back and forth with XXI and H&M
I know my wardrobe consists of those two stores but that's because their clothes are affordable.
Oddly enough the weather was sunny and I chose to wore black.
It was probably because I didn't feel like going to school that day!

I know I said I'd do a SKIN CARE video and don't fret it will be coming up shortly!
Sorry for the delay!

Ash Wednesday

I started my morning right yesterday. I went to mass with my mother to begin the Lenten season. If you didn't know already, I am Catholic. After mass I as I walked with/worked with the ash on my forehead I got a couple of peculiar looks and questions. Not to mention comments. One of my friends told me "you got something black on your forehead!" and some of my customers asked "I've seen a lot of people with that black cross on their forehead. What's going on?" Some of these were funny but there was one question that hit me hard. It was my manager when she asked
"Is that a happy thing?"
I honestly didn't know how to answer that. Lent is how you perceive it. A lot of people say Lent is sad or Lent is happy or some people are even indifferent about it. To me I see Lent to be happy.
Lent is about the preparation of Jesus showing his unconditional love for us.
There is no greater love than this: to lay one's life for another. (John 15:13).
Although dying may seem not a happy event it is not the entire idea of Lent. You see Jesus sacrificed Himself for us to show how much He loves us. He endured all our pain and suffering so that we won't have to go through any of that. This to me is the greatest love of all and where there is love, there is happiness.
He gave His life for us so we can come back to Him.
Not only do I see Lent to be happy through Jesus' sacrifice but the three R's.
Reflection, Repent and Renewal.
These three R's have been important to me in Lent.
Lent is a time for Reflection. Reflecting on myself. Reflecting if I'm happy, if I'm going where I want to be, if I'm treating everyone with the respect they need, if I'm living the life that God wants me to live. I started my first reflection yesterday and I pulled out emotions that I've been covering through smiles and laughter. I didn't know I was hiding how I truly felt about myself. I've been so self-absorbed with everyday life that I didn't think how I was doing spiritually.
As I reflected on myself I realize how dry my spirituality was. Sure I went to mass every Sunday and I prayed the rosary every night with my family. However I was still dry. I wasn't practicing my faith compared to four years ago where all I did was talk about God with my BLD friends and all of that. I realized how far I walked away from God and how badly I was hiding it. I'm not going to lie I have been "too busy" to take time out of my life to just say thank you to God. In this season of Lent I want to offer myself to Him again. I want to bring my sins at the foot of Jesus' cross.
At the end of Lent I'm hoping that I'm a new person. I'm hoping that my relationship with myself is renewed but not only myself but to the people I've hurt, to the people that I love.
To me I see Lent to be beautiful. Jesus shows us how much He loves us by allowing us to reflect on ourselves, to repent to Him and to be a new person for ourselves and for Him.
I know some of you guys aren't Catholic or not even religious. That's okay. You don't have to be religious in order to do these three R's.
These R's are pretty much an every day thing.
Reflect on yourself. Are you happy with who you are? Are you satisfied with your everyday life? Are you content with the relationships you have? Is there something you're missing? Is there a void that you tried to fill but couldn't?
Repent! Forgive yourself. You can't expect to receive forgiveness or give it out unless you forgiven yourself. How could one do it unless they have it?
Renewal. Be the new person you want to be. Be the person who you've been longing for. It doesn't have to be tomorrow to renew yourself. It doesn't have to be next week. It can be today. It can be now!

I know I'm looking forward to these (now) 39 days of Lent. I'm hoping by then I'll be able to immerse myself in God's love and to reflect on who I really am.
Thanks for taking your time to read this.

Rocking my Ash!(LOL)

Ciao for now~

LATE HAUL!

I know I'm so bad at keeping track on what I need to post but this is yet another late post! I said you guys can expect a "purchase" post or what some people call it: a haul! This haul contains purchases from last week of January to March 1st! Most of my items that I bought are dedicated to the upcoming warm seasons such as Spring and Summer! So brace yourself, this post is quite long :)!

SHOES
Chunky Strap Platform Sandals - Zara $60
I know they're a bit dirty at the top because I wore them on Saturday at a dinner with my girl friends.
We walked on chalky pavement to burn our food babies LOL.
I'm absolutely in love with these chunky sandals.
I saw a similar pair at Little Burgundy and it was $100.
This was a long time ago and since then I was trying to find a similar style and this one shows up!
The thing that I absolutely love about these are the straps!
I have been collecting chunky shoes and I'm going to admit my ankle gives in sometimes.
The wedges are so hollow inside that it can make anyone wobble and stumble.
The straps on these sandals prevent the wobbling and flinches of falling!
(Although I did trip on some rocks which could ultimately explain the chalk on the tip of the sandal)

Brown Slip Ons - H&M $3
Yeah the red stickers are the mark down price!
I hate when H&M does that, it's so hard to peel it off.
You guys can probably see the strings wrapped around my ankles.
This just secures my foot in the slip ons because they're actually one size up.
I just had to get them.
What I did was cut up one of my cat's cradle string and just use it for my ankles!
These will be perfect to wear in the Spring and Summer!

Chunky Shiny Heel Wedges - H&M $3
Can you guys believe the price?! This was originally $50!!
Again these heels are one size up but I know I'm probably going to wear thick socks with these or even layer some of my tights!
The size difference isn't that noticeable, that's mainly why I got it.
Oh and I've been eyeing it every time I go to H&M!
I absolutely adore the look and the glossy wedge heel because it gives my outfit some personality

TOPS
Sunflower Turtle Neck Crop Top - Urban Behaviour $5
I am a complete sucker for any sunflower or daisy printed things.
When I saw this top that my friend, Austin showed me I absolutely had to get it.
The fact that it's a turtle neck too was a bonus!
I'm a little crazy about turtle necks. I mean who isn't?
They keep your neck freaking warm and it kind of gives off the "classy" or "mature" look.
This top is so ideal to wear in the spring and summer!
The colour of the sunflower will compliment the weather and since it's sleeveless it'll keep me cool!

ACCESSORIES
Black Retro Cat Eyed Sunnies - XXI $8
Maroon Cat Eyed Sunnies - H&M $7
Gold Lace Choker - XXI $10
I saw these sunnies at H&M and seriously I couldn't stop thinking about them.
I know I have been saying that a lot but it's so damn true!
Whenever I see something and I say "damn I need to get that," I end up getting it.
To me it makes my face look a little bit slimmer LOL(sigh).
What's awesome about these sunglasses is that they have gold tips at the end!
I couldn't take a picture, for that I apologize!
Ah yes, you guys probably already know these sunnies!
It's linked in my February Favourites down below if you scroll down!
I bought these the day after I got my maroon sunnies... HAHA!
Call me a shop-a-holic!

You know how they say that you're more likely to get something if someone else agrees with you?
This is the case for this necklace.
I still remember my reaction when I saw this.
I was in love with it but I was skeptical about the price.
However persuaded by the opinion from my friend, Michelle I decided to get it.
And I'm glad I got it because I was in need of a new necklace!
I purchased this with the retro sunnies!

White Crackled Stone Earrings - Ardene's $3
Diamond Shape Striped Patterned Earrings - Ardene's $3
Matte Gold Patterned Hoops - H&M $1
What a deal.
I honestly don't know what to call these earrings so I'm just labeling on their appearance.
I'm sure they have specific names but I honestly don't know.
I'm in love with these earrings, mostly because they were on sale LOL.
But also they're earrings I can wear when I do an up-do hairstyle!

Left: Different Patterned/Texture Gold Bangles $3
Right: Stretchy Gold Bracelets - H&M $2
I have gone back to wearing my arm candy and when I saw these I thought it would look great in my collection!
Not to mention their prices were a must have.
I guess I only buy for the price..? LOL
But really, these bracelets are cute and very easy to pair with an outfit!

COSMETICS
I went a little too happy on the nail-polish purchasing!
From left to right (Revlon) $4-5 each
020 - Pure Pearl
933 - Chameleon
220 - Enchanting
909 - Sheer Petal
917 - Plum Seduction
705 - Gray Suede
280 - Bubbly
410 - Dreamer
161 - Teak Rose
As you can tell majority of these colours are light and I pretty much bought them for the upcoming spring and summer!
The darker colours are the ones I'll be wearing when I'm feeling "meh" about certain days!

Aveeno - Daily Moisturizing Lotion (My mom gave it to me actually)
L'OREAL - Voluminous Mascara $7
Urban Decay - Make Up Setting Spray in Oil Control $15
Aveeno - Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15 $17
Crest 3D White Toothpaste $3
Wet & Wild - Walking on Eggshells Trio Eyeshadow $4
Most of these items were necessities
I'm back on that 3D teeth whitening because I just want my teeth to be whiter LOL.
This has been my 2nd bottle of Aveeno Positively Radiant Moisturizer and I really enjoy it.
It's very nice and light on the skin.

Maybelline 915 - Blushing Beige
I really think this colour would look awesome when the sun is out.
Lately over here the weather has been gloomy and I'm not able to whip out this nice colour.
Blushing Beige is a nice neutral lip colour.
It'll be awesome to wear with mostly my spring outfits!

Wet & Wild - Walking on Eggshells
I thought I would do a close up of the eyeshadow trio I got!
I have a great feeling that I'm going to be wearing this every day in spring.
The colours are not that harsh! It has the perfect light colour to it!
It's also very simple and easy to follow!
I think this will be the first eyeshadow trio(quad, duo etc) that I'll be using each colour that is recommended for which eye part!
I'll definitely do a make up look with this eyeshadow trio before Spring comes along!

There happens to be one more thing that I bought but I won't show that because I'm saving it for my upcoming room tour :)! As of now my room is completed until I go to IKEA to purchase my dresser! I might hold off with the room tour until I get that dresser but I might not!

I hope you guys enjoyed this really long post and I would love to hear about what you thought :)!
Till next time lovelies~

Colors of The Wind Cover!

Yes you read that title right!
HOWEVER, I have no part of this! This lovely cover was done by a couple of my closest friends! I absolutely loved it! Hopefully you guys can check it out when you have time :)!

FEBRUARY FAVOURITES!

A really late February favourites! I was meaning to do this but I just completely forgot about it, oops :$! The things I loved about February focused more on body care and accessorizing!
Oh and apology for advance because these pictures again are from my iPhone! I have yet to find that damn charger for my good camera!

NIVEA Pure & Natural - Milk & Honey Lip-Balm $2
I recently got this at the end of February and I'm absolutely loving it!
It literally smells like its name and obviously it tastes good!
(Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about, everyone has somewhat tasted their chapsick here and there... LOL!)
It goes on really well and doesn't leave any of the thick chapstick residue behind!

The Body Shop - Strawberry Body Butter Cream
I got this from my friends Eddie and Nicole for my birthday.
I haven't started using it until the beginning of February.
If I have known it smelled this good I would've used it a long time ago!
It's scent isn't too strong or too weak.
You can definitely smell the strawberry tinge to it but its somewhat subtle in a way.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's smell is perfect!
It's perfect that it smells somewhat natural.
The only thing I could do without is the feeling. You can definitely feel the body butter on your skin but I guess that's why it's called body butter!

Black Cat Eye Retro Sunglasses - XXI $8
(yes I know this is SUPER DUSTY LOL)
Originally I wasn't supposed to get these sunglasses.
I was supposed to get these really big circular sunglasses. The frames were coloured a light transparent gray.
I didn't get that because Leo said it reminded him of an umbilical cord... LOL
I'm really happy with these sunglasses considering that I almost wear it whenever it's sunny.
It goes well with any outfits and I'm kind of digging the cat-eyed look!

Revlon 410 - Dreamer & Revlon 220 - Enchanting $4 each
I already made a post of this but these two are currently my favourite nail polishes at the moment.
The colours aren't as bright nor too dark.
It's in the middle.
Yeah I kind of dig that equality thing.
It kind of gives off the girly but boyish look to it in a way.
Oh and it's really easy to apply.
1-2 coats and you're done!

I hope you guys enjoyed this somewhat late February Favourite post!
I know I don't have that many favourites, Originally I was supposed to have a couple more but I wanted to keep it nice and short!
Definitely this March's Favourites will be good!

Denim Denim

OOTD
Denim Denim
Over Sized Collar Denim Jacket - Forever 21
Cream Floral Print on Black Button Up - Salvation Army(Thrift Store)
Boyfriend Jeans - Forever 21
Black & Gray Striped Socks - (Found them in my drawer)
Black Buckled Booties - Forever 21
Gray Print Vintage Scarf - Mom's

Again, another dominate Forever 21 outfit LOL ^_^;
For hair I stuck with the messy pony tail look because I just thought it worked well with my denim outfit.

I wanted to try the denim on denim look.
I know the denim on denim look can go both ways.
It can work or it cannot.
It definitely can work for starters
1) Just pick different shades of your denim
2) Make sure you have something printed
3) Have a neutral colour like black/gray/white for your top
4) Accessorize!
This look was inspired by this guy name Daniel
As soon as I saw how he made denim on denim work I just had to try it.
Oh and also the weather was disgusting outside so I thought denim was the best outfit to agree with the weather and how I was feeling about it.

Hope you guys enjoyed this post!
I'll see you around :*<3

FATE

Finally, here is my story, Fate!
(picture isn't mine!!)
It was a sunny afternoon when I saw them. I still remembered when I tied myself around his pinky followed by her pinky. As soon as I tied the knot their cries stopped. Their mothers held them close to their hearts.
“Charles” the oranged hair lady whispered into the newborn’s ear as she smiled.
“Lydia” the brunette lady said as she planted a kiss on her daughter’s head. I knew they were made for each other.
Lydia was hunched over the marbled counter. Her shoulders moved up and down. I could tell she hasn’t stopped. Her tears continued to fall from her cheeks as it stained the papers clenched in her hands. It’s been an hour since she found those papers. One was scrunched in his work pants, one was stuffed in his work desk and the others were in his coat. A sudden series of twist came from the front doorknob. She immediately stuffed the papers into her pocket and wiped her tears away.
“Lydia sweetie I’m home” a manly voice called out from the hallway. She cleared her throat to respond but her breath just hitched in her throat. The man stood at the doorway of the kitchen. He wore the usual grin on his face. I watched him approach Lydia. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer towards him. I felt the usual surge within me but it mostly came from Charles. He kissed the side of her cheek and slowly proceeded down to her jawline. This didn’t make Lydia giggle or smile this time. It made her cry. He felt a salty liquid brush against his lips. He quickly let go of his grasp and turned his wife around. He was greeted by a face he thought he would never have to see again. The usual surge started to dissipate and I started to feel myself twist at her end.
“Lydia are you okay?” he said as he extended his hand towards her face. She waved his hand away and the twist started to form a tangle.
“Charles do you even love me?” she questioned. It pierced his heart as if daggers were thrown at it. The corners of his mouth were no longer stretched from ear to ear but they were pulled down by the emotions of his heart. He opened his mouth but the only thing that came out was air. His end started to form a tangle but thankfully not as severe as Lydia’s. She brought her hands to her face and sobbed into them.
“Lydia why would you ask me that, you know I lo-”
“Really then what’s this?!” she screamed as she grabbed the papers from her pockets and threw it at him. It scattered across the floor with one of them faced up. Charles looked down and immediately froze. His tangles started to become complex and messy.
“Lydia I swear to you I didn’t do anything! Let me explain!” he said as he grabbed onto her hands. She shook her head. Another tangle formed from both ends.
“What’s to explain? If you didn’t do anything then you wouldn’t have multiple whore bills!” she cried as she pushed Charles away from his hold.
“I knew you weren’t ready for marriage. Maybe it’s best if w-”
“No! Don’t say it please!” he begged as tears formed in his eyes. She backed away and shook her head. Lydia exited the kitchen and started to pack her belongings. Charles sank to the floor with the papers sprawled around him. All he could do was cry. I never seen him this sad before and I know he didn’t do anything. I was the one who helped him reconsider. She stood at the doorway with bags in each hand. I knew they wanted to say something to each other but they couldn’t. She nodded at Charles and made her way out the front door. As soon as the door close Charles let out the loudest cry I’ve ever heard. Lydia rested her forehead on the front door and weeped when she heard his cry.
It has been 3 months since that incident. Neither of them had contact with each other. Whenever Charles tried to speak to Lydia her sister would tell him to get lost. I’m tangled everywhere, I’m stretched and worn out. They were so far apart from each other. The only thing that wasn’t touched was the knot I tied myself. Charles wasn’t able to smile genuinely anymore and Lydia never stopped the tears. I have to do something. They miss each other so much. I tried to unravel myself at both ends this time. It didn’t do that much it only gave them the motivation to go out. I just wished I was able to unravel myself fully so I can pull them closer like I did before but this time it’s very different. Charles got invited to go out by his friends again. This has been their fifth time taking Charles out. Lydia on the other hand was going out for the first time.
Charles sat by himself as usual while his friends invaded a group of girls. He sighed at the sight of this. He didn’t want to go and mingle. If he were to mingle he wanted it to be with Lydia. He fondled at the beer in his hand. I felt myself loosen. I was no longer stretched or constricted. Lydia’s end was slowly coming closer to Charles’ end. I saw her walk in the bar with her friends. Charles hasn’t noticed yet. He was too into his beer to look up for a damn second. She made her way towards where Charles sat. Lydia didn’t notice either. Her back was towards Charles and Charles head was down for Lydia to notice it was him. This was my chance to help them. I tried to unravel myself on Charles’ end because it was much easier to do so. His end wasn’t constricted or complicated like Lydia’s. I saw him put down his beer as he felt my unravel. He raised his head and slowly turned to the right, towards Lydia’s direction.
“Dude Charlie what are you doing buddy?! Come over here” a voice called out from the crowd of girls. Charles turned around to face his friends. He wore a smirk and waved his hand. Slow close, damn his friends. I unraveled myself again and Charles looked to the left. I felt his heart increase and the familiar surge started to build from his end. He saw her back, the back that he used to hug from behind and gave Lydia her favourite kisses. Lydia still hasn’t noticed. Even when his moron of a friend yelled his name out. I guess she was too busy listening to her friends. I unravelled myself from Charles’ end as it started to become easier. Charles got up from his stool and approached his wife. Her friends were the first one to see him of course. They shot death glares at him but that didn’t scare Charles. The more that I could unravel the more confidence Charles got.
“Lydia” he spoke. She turned to face the direction of his voice and the same urge started to come from her end. However it wasn’t as much as Charles but it was definitely something. Lydia’s mouth hung opened as she saw her husband for the first time in 3 months.
“Let’s go Lydia we can find another bar to hang out in” one of her friends said. The other two bimbos nodded with her. At least I wasn’t being stretched anymore. They haven’t been this close since what felt like forever.
“Lydia can we talk?” he said as he ignored the remarks of her friends.
“I don’t think she wants to talk” one of her friends replied.
“No it’s okay I think I can handle this girls, I won’t be long” she smiled at them. The girls left with one last glare and left the two alone. He sat beside her and both of them exchanged awkward smiles. It was quiet for 20 minutes, like the first time they went on a date.
“Will you let me explain about those papers?” he said to break the silence. Lydia fiddled with her fingers until she said yes.
“Yes I’ll admit I did go to a brothel” Charles said. Lydia got up but Charles placed his hand on her arm which made her sit down.
“Once you step in you get charged and I went multiple times because I was considering on sleeping with another girl. The temptations were there but I couldn’t stand losing the thought of you. I swear I was going to tell you that’s why I kept all the bills. I just never found the right time” he said as he grabbed her hand. Lydia started to form tears within her eyes but I felt Lydia’s end unravel more.
“Lydia, if I could take back my stupidity I would. I know I shouldn’t have even considered about cheating on you. You were so good to me and I’m a terrible husband I’ll accept that. I’ll understand if you don’t wan-” Lydia wrapped her arms around his neck and locked lips with Charles.
“That’s all I wanted to hear from you. I may be crazy for forgiving you because you did consider to think about cheating on me but I can’t stand being away from you anymore. I prayed every night for a sign and this happened.” She said as she held unto Charles. He kissed her forehead and held her tightly within his arms.
“It’s crazy I wasn’t even supposed to come out tonight. It was like there was something telling me to go out.” She continued
“Like fate!” They both said in unison. I felt the surge coming from both ends now and the tangles were all gone. I was no longer worn out nor stretched. My thread returned to its natural red. I definitely missed this feeling.

REVIEW ON L'OREAL TRUE MATCH FOUNDATION

As promised here is the L'OREAL True Match Foundation Review!
L'OREAL True Match in C3 - $15-17
I heard a lot of great things about this foundation and after my brother's girlfriend recommending me to buy this foundation I just had to get my hands on it.
I also wanted a "cheap" foundation to wear on semi-special occasions.
The great thing about this product is for starters is how well it blends on your skin.
It sits really well and honestly I didn't feel it when I was blending it across my whole face.
This is really important to me because I absolutely hate feeling foundation on my face.
I don't like the cakey feeling!
Some foundations that I tried in the past were too heavy and it felt like I was wearing a mask.
The consistency of L'OREAL true match isn't too watery or thick.
I guess that's what makes it very easy to blend and how light it feels on my skin.
Another bonus of the product is that it has SPF in it!
This is extremely important as it provides protection from UV rays!
(Ain't nobody got time for wrinkles)
The shape of the bottle is a decent size!
This foundation also sticks well to the face!
When I rubbed my fingers or tissue on my face the product barely showed!
It's not as big as my other foundations so its travelling friendly!
Pretty much can stick it in any purse and apply it on the go!
I just apply it all over my face and then blend it on a brush.
I just pour the foundation on the back of my hand and use my ring finger to apply it everywhere.
I use the e.l.f Powder Brush to blend the foundation all over my face.
The only thing I didn't like about this product was the amount I was using.
It might have been I wasn't using enough but I found myself reapplying the foundation to some places it missed to cover up some red areas or acne.
This is the final face!(LOL)
As for my hair I chose to stick with a high curled pony tail!
Would I buy another bottle of this foundation?
Absolutely!!
If you guys don't know which foundation to try and it's your first time buying and you're on a budget I would definitely recommend this!

Hope you guys enjoyed this review!
Let me know what you guys think about L'OREAL True Match Foundation!

Sunshine Class

OOTD
Sunshine Class
The weather was so amazing so I thought I'd whip out early spring outfits
Retro Black Sunglasses - Forever 21
Tan Spring Jacket - Forever 21
Black Cardigan - Forever 21
Gray Sleeveless Button Up - Salvation Army(Thrift store)
Black Skirt - Forever 21
Brown Sandal Heels - Forever 21
Reptile Strap Purse - H&M

LOL so I didn't know most of my outfit was Forever 21.
How ironic of me.

The colour I focused on in this outfit was pretty much: Brown, Black and Gray!
